Maple (Year 2)
This half term, our topic is ‘Towers and Turrets’.
Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses, you are royally invited to join us this half term for our topic ‘Towers and Turrets’. We will be looking at the incredible life of Queen Elizabeth II, the legacy that she has left and the changes that happened over her 70 year reign. In English, there will be a focus on fairy tales and we will be rewriting the Three Little Pigs and writing letters of apology from the wolf. We are returning to biology for our science and learning about plants and the changes that occur throughout their life cycle. Sculpture will be the media used for art this half term, and we will be designing and making our own towers and turrets based on the work of Antoni Gaudi. In music, we will see how one piece can be altered by changing the style of music, and this unit will be our introduction into the recorder. What a lot we have to fit in this half term!
