Class Teacher – Mrs Freshwater
Teaching Assistant – Mr Maunder
In Reception, we plan a wide range of learning experiences including daily communication and language, mathematics and literacy lessons. We also provide opportunities for children to develop their own ideas through continuous provision including texture trays, construction, puzzles and mark-making activities. Our aim is to support our young learners to develop their independence and confidence together with a love of learning.
Our spring 1 topic is “Homes and Houses” and our key texts will be “Town Mouse and Country Mouse”, A Squash and a Squeeze”, “The Smartest Giant in Town” and “The Three Little Pigs”. The children will look at old and new buildings, homes around the world and compare types of buildings. They will find out more about 3d shapes and measuring height and length.
This term, Reception children will have PE lessons with Mrs Henry on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; outdoor learning with Mr Ball will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The children will be able to change library books on Tuesdays or Thursdays while they may change their class reading books daily.
