Year 4 had the perfect morning for flying the solar airship. It needs to be sunny and still – it doesn’t matter if it’s chilly. The black material of the airship is very thin. It needs to be filled with air (by running it up and down the field with one end open) first. Then, the open end is tied shut. The sun warms the black material, this warms the air inside until it is warmer than the surrounding air. Then – up it goes!
