Yr 1 Miss Langdown
Our topic for spring 2 is ‘Superheroes’. During this topic, we will be learning about both fictional and real life superheroes. We will write adverts for superheroes, write about our own superheroes, create wanted posters for the Evil Pea and create a new adventure for Traction Man! In our science, we will compare and describe different materials to make the best cape for a superhero.
We will be looking into the past to find out about some real-life heroes, such as Florence Nightingale and Martin Luther King in history. We will find out about people and organisations that keep us safe in PSHE and we will be thinking about caring friendships and respectful relationships. In art, we will create our own sculptures of superheroes and in DT we will be designing and making masks that display a superhero personality. We will listen to and create our own superhero theme tunes in music and will explore coding in ICT. In RE, we are going to start looking at who are Jewish and how they might live.
Our library time is now on a Tuesday. This gives us the opportunity to share a few books, and choose new books to share with our families.
- Outdoor Learning – Monday afternoon with Mr Ball
- PE – Wednesday morning with Mr Maunder
Mrs Fleming will be working with us on Fridays from 11.30am, Mrs Norman will be supporting us on Wednesdays and Mrs Hooper will be supporting us on Fridays.
