Coronavirus – update
Please note that at this time, we have not received any direct indication to close our school before the planned Easter break.
As you will be aware, the government are regularly meeting to review their management of the Coronavirus outbreak. The BBC are reporting that it is anticipated the UK will switch to tactics aimed at delaying its spread, rather than containing it, when the government’s emergency committee meets later today.
Difficult decisions will have to be made and it could be that schools are instructed to close to delay the spread of Coronavirus. If this situation arises, it is important to try to keep the phone lines free at school. Your support with this will be greatly appreciated. Therefore, we shall communicate with families via the app and website, which can be accessed via the home page on the school website – www. https://www.teignmouthprimary.co.uk/ Radio Devon (95.7 FM) will also regularly share information about school closures. Devon County Council have a dedicated page on their website to share school closures which can be accessed at – www.devon.gov.uk/schools/closure
We have been planning how to support pupils at home with their learning should Teignmouth Community School Mill Lane close and this information will be shared with you via the app and website.
Please can I ask that you make sure you are able to receive our updates as we receive more information and plan for any necessary arrangements should we need to close.
Thank you once again for your support.
Mrs A Thomas
Head of school
