Remembrance Day

On Monday 11th November, Miss Gobel’s class learnt all about Remembrance Day and the symbolism of the poppy.

We started the day by listening to Mrs Dudley’s assembly and thought about how many different people show their support in different ways.

At 11am, we conducted a 2 minute silence to reflect on what we had learnt in assembly and to think about all the lives lost due to conflict.

In the afternoon, we took our discussions further. We shared some of our own experiences of Remembrance Day, the history of the day and why it had started, the charity and what the money raised does to help, as well as make our own poppies to share.
