Covid-19 update

Dear Parents and Carers,

I’m sure after the Prime Ministers statement last night there are lots of questions that you have. We have lots of questions that need clarification too.

For the moment for us in school, there is no change to the guidance. We will provide care for those children whose parents work is critical to the COVID-19 response and vulnerable pupils with a social worker. The message is still it is safer to stay at home.

We have not yet received any information to support us with this new road map plan to possibly start the phased re-opening of Reception, Year 1 and Year 6. We expect to receive further information from the DfE in the next day or so, with some clarification.

We will need clear guidance to plan how it is possible to social distance in schools and keep our children, teachers and families safe, but we will be keeping to what we are currently doing as a starting point such as reduced class sizes, staggered break and lunches, compulsory and regular hand washing, the cleaning of door handles, surfaces etc more regularly.

Please be assured that we will keep you informed but for now please try not to worry. Our plan for now is to continue to provide online activities on Seesaw for learning at home, keep contact with you and continue to support each other in these very difficult and uncertain times.

Stay safe,

Mrs Thomas
Head of school
